On 10 April 2009 Tornado was released in all major cinemas and for community screenings in South Africa.
As part of the marketing campaign Press Screenings, Theatre Screenings and Community Premiere Screenings took place before the official release of the film. Film Premieres were hosted in many main cities and smaller communities throughout South Africa.
Leaders and representatives of churches, NGO's, ministries and celebrities were invited to the Premiere Events.
