Leán grew up within a highly creative and artistic family environment along with her sister Lika Berning who follows a career in film as well. After having had some resistance to it in her youth, it is not unusual that Leán is pursuing her own career in the entertainment industry. At 24 Leán started to work as a clapper loader in the film industry. Leán is excited about the digital developments in film and has worked on four HD feature films as a second camera assistant, to date. Although Leán continues to work behind the cameras she makes her acting debut in the upcoming film "Tornado". Leán has not received any formal acting training and sees herself as more of a rough actor than a polished one as yet. Leán has a great love for music and has had guitar and vocal training and although her melodies have not left her bedroom she plans to express herself through music as well as film in the years to come. Leán has an interest in academics and presently studies English, Philosophy and Religious Studies through UNISA. Standing only at the beginning of her life (as one always does) Leán looks forward to living out that which is inside her, the God given passions and dreams that one always has and ought never to lose sight of.
